BREAKING: Anthology of Terrance Dicks at Target Books in 2020. Here’s How You Can Be Part of It!

BBC Books announced today that a single-volume anthology commemorating the late Terrance Dicks is coming out next year. The book will contain some of his work at Target Books where he novelized more than 60 Doctor Who television serials.

Terrance Dicks died in August 2019. Last month, his final Doctor Who story was released in The Target Storybook which we reviewed.

But we don’t know which Target novelizations will be featured in the book. Mainly because that’s up to you.

The World Cup of Terrance Dicks

As with all important decisions, the Target stories going into the book will be chosen by the Internet. Or at least the Doctor Who fans who happen to be on Twitter.

From Monday 18th November until Friday 22nd, the official Doctor Who BBC Books Twitter account (@BBCDWBooks) will be posting a series of polls that pit story against story. Starting with 16 groups of 4 adventures, the list will be whittled down until only 10 remain. These will make up the contents of the anthology.

Use the hashtag #TerranceDicksWorldCup to keep up with the action.

We’ll be following along on Twitter over at the @WhoShelf account and giving a running commentary. In the meantime, visit doctorwho.tv for a breakdown of the groups.
